Dr. Brittany Smith is a solar techno-economic researcher at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). Since 2017, her research at NREL has focused on manufacturing costs of solar technologies and their associated supply chains. Her work at NREL primarily supports two U.S. Department of Energy offices: the Office of Manufacturing and Energy Supply Chains (MESC) and the Solar Energy Technologies Office (SETO). She received a PhD in sustainability from the Rochester Institute of Technology with support from a NASA fellowship focused on photovoltaics for satellite applications.
